He is a man. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on 23st on October 1942. When he was six years old, his family moved to Roslyn, New York.
He was raised in Long Island, near to New York in a family with intellectualconcerns.
The theatre, films and museums occupied a large part of his life. He liked towrite. He sold his first text, an article about travel, to “The New York Times”when he was 14 years old.
He finished high School in Roslyn in 1960. After, he studied Anthropology and graduated from Harvard Summa Cum Laude in 1965.
He received a Henry Russell Shaw Traveling Fellowship from 1964 to 1965 andtraveled for a year in Europe and Africa.
He was also lecturer in anthropology at The University of Cambridge, in TheUnited Kingdom.
The return to United States began the career of medicine, which paid writingthrillers under various names. He graduated in 1969. During the last year inMedical School, he published a book, TheAndromeda Strain, a bestseller that he sold to Hollywood.
His studies as a scientist influenced the plot of many of his books. He isconsidered as one of the first writers of Techno-Thriller.
Many of his books were taken to the movies: Congo,Sphere, Jurassic Park, Coma, Disclosure…. and the TV series Emergenciesthat won 8 Emmys in 1995.
He died in Los Angeles, California, on November 4st, 2008 at age 66 a cancervictim.
He married five times and he had two children, a daughter and a son who wasborn after his dead.
The world knew him as a great Storyteller who challenged our preconceivednotions about the world around us and entertained us while doing it.
